ASSIGNMENT 1A (5%)

PRECEDENT STUDY

TASK

Students are to undertake the following tasks in a group work:

PRIMARY STUDY: Visit and study one local BUSINESS INCUBATOR CENTRE / VIRTUAL OFFICE and SELECTED TYPE OF TECHNO INCUBATOR CENTRE or any building / part of building complex that resembles a BUSINESS INCUBATOR CENTRE;

SECONDARY STUDY: Study one foreign BUSINESS INCUBATOR CENTRE / VIRTUAL OFFICE and SELECTED TYPE OF TECHNO INCUBATOR CENTRE or any building / part of building complex that resembles a BUSINESS INCUBATOR CENTRE;

The studies should cover, but not limited to, the following aspects:

Contextual response
Design concept
Site planning
Space planning
Schedule of accommodation (SOA)
Ancillary facilities
Services provision
Unique features: green installation / structural solution / materiality etc.

NOTE:

Be mindful that the studies should not just highlight the obvious features but should also, and more importantly, be able to guide you during your design exercise at the later stage.

Individually, you MUST HAVE your own precedent study particularly on matters related to SUSTAINABLE DESIGN / GREEN BUILDING / GBI INDEX BUILDING

The GROUP Precedent Studies shall be prepared AND presented using Google Slides as per scheduled in the studio timeline.
